A player performs a sliding tackle ... With his face

Call me an expert, but I don't think he meant for that to happen. Even more interestingly , the referee pulls a yellow card immediately afterwards. You can't blame the attacker because he did nothing wrong, so in theory he booked the player for blocking a goal scoring opportunity by falling face first into the strikers studs. Little harsh maybe?

Now that's taking one for the team...he falls he definitely tries to shuffle himself into the path of the running attacker.

Though it's not the same, I can't help but think of Gabor Gyepes' challenge a few seasons back against Leicester!

Finest rugby tackle seen at the CCS. Gabor took one for the team to stop a certain goal, as I recall he went for the knees and gradually brought him down by the ankles. Inevitable red card, but it earned us a point.
