Stuck BEHIND the stage able to see nothing. Can see space off to the sides of the oval basin itself but told that only invited guests are allowed in that part.
If I knew that inside the basin itself was a private party I could have stayed at home. Not happy.

Yes, a bit strange that. Not sure why you were stuck though. I was able to walk around the west side of the oval basin (the far side from the WMC) from bottom to top without any problems. Scoffed fish cake n' chips watching the band on the big screen.
Walked half way up Lloyd George Ave to meet the bus and walked back with it, along with hundreds, nay thousands, of fans. Absolutely superb atmosphere, players really enjoying it. Hudson and Gunnar were leading the singing of 'we're coming for you, you JBs'. When Hudson stumbled as the bus stopped suddenly, the crowd were singing 'sit down and behave yourself!'. All great fun, glad I went. Top way to end the season.

I guess on my own i could have fought my way through further on that side. I have my 80 year old dad with me though and it wasn't practical. The space free was on the WMC side but there was no entry there for VUP's. Probably a great night for those able to get into a position to see anything.

Ah yes, that would make a difference, there wasn't a lot of room for moving about in. Sorry to hear you had a bummer evening. Not sure why they had those restrictions, I didn't see anything advertised about it.

Well my dad still enjoyed himself and we were in an excellent position in the end for the fireworks (which were really top notch). So not a totally wasted evening after all :cup:

glad i didn't go
Was an incredible day. From the bus through the city centre, from the music on the stage. The only bit that wasn't open to the public was right in front of the stage, which is understandable because they needed space to get the players up.

As far as getting entry was concerned this extended to the area on the side between the Ffresh restaurant by the WMC and the Pierhead Buildings. That area was certainly not right in front of the stage (which i can understand and agree with being restricted) but even so barriers were up and the only people getting past them were the invited few with the right passes.
Maybe once you were in the main crowd you were allowed to wander over as far as there but you certainly couldn't get in that way by the time i turned up with my father.
Anyway as i said i got a good view of the fireworks if precious little else and i am glad those able to plan their day differently and get a view of the stage had such a great day.

Pot. Kettle. Black.
I can't be arsed to get worked up about Swansea myself.

Pathetic isn't it. No-one can say anything these days without people being offended or upset. People need to lighten up a bit IMO.
