In response to Rhys's request for more topics, the best of Welsh who never played football, but if they had, would probably have lined up 4-4-2......... The Greatest Wales Team 1965 - 1975 and beyond....... 833362651

There was also that really rubbish OTT actor... whatshisname... played a retarded ball boy at the Liberty...

Also is Henry Spinetti the same as Victor Spinetti? Surely he'd bring the jaffa cakes on at half time

Brothers apparently, although I had never connected the two until now........

I was going to put Aled Jones as ball boy, on the basis that he needs a kicking!

Ok I've had a little think and this is what I've come up with:

GK Stuart Cable (drummers have lots in common with GKs)

LB Nicky Wire (taking up his usual left hand side position)

CB Katherine Jenkins (would be enough to distract any striker)

CB Anthony Hopkin (c) (boss and calming influence of the team)

RB Rob Brydon (trusty old head, great for team spirit)

LM Neil Kinnock (natural left winger giving perfect balance)

CM Derek the Weatherman (would be given lots of space in CM)

CM Ian Watkins (singer from Steps, forming a partnership with Derek)

RM Rhod Gilbert (plenty of energy, links with fellow comedian Rob)

ST Tom Jones (ultimate frontman, ideal up tops)

ST Gruff Rhys (another obvious frontman, just playing off Tom)

Manager: Rhodri Morgan (experienced leader, will get full respect of the dressing room)

Excellent! I'd limited my team to musical talent, with a bassist in goal, keyboards at fullback, drums at centre back, guitarists to provide the flair in midfield and, as you say, the frontmen in attack....... The Greatest Wales Team 1965 - 1975 and beyond....... 1525230823

I didn't know Kate Bush had a bit of Welsh in her. I have always fantasised about her having a bit of Welsh in her but didn't know she actually had.

What about David Lloyd-George for manager - a wheeler dealer if ever there was one.

Barack Obama could qualify through his great-great-great-great-great-great grandparents, apparently.
