McPhail available for loan - But not Ralls

Malky has told the BBC McPhail is still an important part of the team, but the wealth of quality in midfield we possess this year means he's unlikely to get playtime here. Maybe as a way of keeping him happy with the club and thus in favour of a coaching role - Malky is open to offers from other clubs for a short term loan. The same can't be said however for Joe Ralls, who has had a lot of interest already reportedly. Malky is keeping Ralls firmly in his current plans.

I didn't see that one coming but I guess it does make sense. MacPhail hasn't played in the Championship in an age (I can't even remember the last time I saw his name on a teamsheet) whereas at least Ralls - despite his youth - actually has.

I suppose Malky knows what he is doing but I'd have thought Ralls could do with a few games and he isn't likely to force his way into our midfield, unless we get a rash of injuries, in which case we could recall him.
