Is McCarthy going to "do a Reading"? He seems to have dramatically changed their fortunes in recent weeks. They are currently 50/1 for promotion. Think I'll have a cheeky fiver on that.

I fancy undercover agents Chopra and JET will destroy the team spirit Mick instills in all his teams. I will say I'm glad we got that trip out of the way before McCarthy arrived.

After 21 games last season Reading had 30 point and were 10th in the table. This is significantly better than Ipswich's position this season.Happy Days wrote:Is McCarthy going to "do a Reading"? Even assuming their fantastic form continues, when it comes down to it they are no match for the league heavyweights in terms of player quality. Ourselves, Leicester, Palace, Blackpool are but four teams with much more of a punch than they possess.

Come the transfer window, Blackpool will be heading down at the same rate thier chairman will be pushing his wheelbarrow full of cash to the nearest airport. But thier demise wont be enough for Ipswich who I think will be looking at next season or maybe a sneaky playoff bid.

I think autos are out of the question, they just don't have a strong enough squad, but play offs are possible.

Only 10 points off 6th with 25 to play, so they are well within a shout aslong as Mick can keep Chopra & JET off the pop for long enough.
They really do have some great players to befair and a top top manager incharge for this league.
The more I think about it I might stick £5 on it myself Happy days

Sure their in with a shout, but it's not just about them. Look at the teams occupying the playoff positions at the moment. Are Ipswich any better than Leicester, Middlesbrough, hull, Watford? I expect Palace, Leicester and Middlesbrough to challenge us for autos. There are a lot of teams fighting for 5th and 6th. Ipwich certainly not out of it, but I would be surprised if they reach top 6
