Just watching a telly programme about Claridges... What's the poshest hotel you've ever stayed in, eaten in, been thrown out of....
Mine's a three way toss up between The Wynn, Las Vegas, The Boot, Aberdare and The County (RIP), Ebbw.
I've eaten in Claridges at Ramsay's restaurant, we ordered the 7 course tasting menu at 10:30 at night... Blotto... It cost an arm and a leg and the only thing I remember was that I pissed myself laughing when my missus complained that her 'basil was bruised'... Still to this day not sure whether that was a euphemism

Cripes, I am a pleb. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel that could be considered posh. I stayed in a four star place once in New York but I don't even remember the name. I often walk past the Savoy when working in Westminster, does that count?

I hope you bellowed out 'What a boring eviction. Rebecca Loos' entourage bullied me out of Claridges and they were much better in every way. They bullied me out in that special way you know I like but won't ever do for me. Frigid bitch.'

It was a little bit like that... But a lot more like a hideously out of their depth valley couple being firmly but courteously ejected.... the missus mumbled obscenities and I had a 1000 yard stare on as I was still shell shocked from the £16 a cocktail nightmare

Of course, any hotel where you're muscled out by Posh Spice's entourage must automatically be the Poshest place you've stayed at.
I once stayed at the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh, that was pretty cool. On the steep hill to the north of Princes Street, so the entrance at the front was about five floors higher than the back entrance. It had a fantastic restaurant, porage and kippers for breakfast, and porage in Scotland is inevitably a treat.

The Royal Scots Club is pretty posh... And if the West Ham fans are to be believed it's back entrance sees as much traffic as Posh Spice

The Boot, Aberdare – feckin hell! The upstairs ‘discotheque’ in the early 90s was surpassed only by that of the Aberdare Hotel in Mountain Ash. The twin delights of venereal disease from the women, and a kicking from their jealous ex-boyfriends.
I’ve accumulated enough points through hotel stays with work to get freebie trips to the Intercontinental hotels in Rome, Geneva and London. Theo Randall’s restaurant in the latter is very good.
The Royal Horseguards hotel in London is pretty swish too.

I've stayed in quite a few 5 star hotels while working around the country, mainly the South and South East of England, but I've never paid full price. So many of them are quiet Monday to Thursday, I just used to go in and ask how much the rooms were, then tell them that I was on expenses and I only had £30 a night, and more often than not they would let me have a room. The best thing is that my expenses were actually £50 so I had £20 to spend on a curry and a pint. YES!

About five years ago my wife and I stayed in a superb hotel in Dijon, France called La Cloche. On the last night of our stay I asked the waiter had the building always been a hotel. He said no, only since the end of World War II. During the war it was the Burgundy headquarters of the Gestapo!
