Fat chance! Not heard a thing, I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if there's an update. But they reckon it was stolen with the object of using it to commit a crime, so I guess it's hidden away somewhere for a few months before they do anything with it. Mind you, they had good CCTV images of the bastards, so you'd think they'd be able to do something with that.

I'm currently negotiating a valuation with the insurance company, on the assumption that it's non-recoverable.

WE HAD OUR "TANMOBILE" stolen last year and when we had it back it never felt the same to drive... we just flogged it on in the end

I remember my car being broken into ten years ago. A week later they came back and tried again knowing I had probably replaced all the stuff in the car

Got a call from the police today, with an update. They've identified the perpetrators from the CCTV footage, who they describe as a very nasty pair. Apparently it won't be a case of knocking on the door and asking to talk to them, they will be going in with an armed response unit.

They don't expect them to reveal the wherabouts of the car, and the likelihood is that it's already got new reg plates and quite possibly already shipped abroad. So I'm still not expecting to see it again, but it would be good if they could put these characters away.

Encouraging chat with the insurance company yesterday, I think they're going to give me a bit more than I thought I was going to get.
