I read about this on the "other board" (*shudder*) but did anybody here see this happen? Horrible thing, but at least the guy is still with us.

"The drama wasn't confined to the pitch on Tuesday night, as one of our Sytner Lounge guests, Mr Phillip Gold suffered a heart attack during the game. Thankfully with medical teams and qualified supporters on site to assist, Mr Gold was quickly taken to the Intensive Care Unit at The University Hospital of Wales. He was revived, has undergone a medical procedure, but remains in a critical but stable condition.

On behalf of all associated with Cardiff City we would like to place on record our thanks to the fellow fans and doctors who responded from within the crowd to events as they occurred. Mr Rhidian Hurle and Dr Alan Davies, along with the NHS Ambulance Service in particular deserve high praise for their quick intervention."

Like someone said on the other board - If you are going to have a heart attack, the best place to have it is in a football stadium.

I hate to be a dick, but the best place to have a heart attack is in a hospital waiting room City Heartache... 692773407

Though quite right the one part of football that can't be criticised is its medical care. Muamba is the obvious example, the doctors genuinely performed a miracle saving his life. Having brought a man back from a massive heart attack is an impressive feat in an intensive care unit, let alone doing it in a cold field with very limited equipment. Whoever is in charge of stadium first aid units is doing a damn fine job.
