The problem with these E petitions is that there are too many people doing their own. The FSF or whoever should get one going (as well as their own petition) and that would have a much better chance of getting the numbers needed.
The FSF have nearly 15,000 signatures so far. Get this signed and get it emailed to everyone you know.

Thats not a proper petition though. It wont get them talking about it in politics. The proper epetitions will.

How are 'proper' petitions defined?
