According to our CEO He reckons another 2-3 players to come in, including a starter ...
Whiteley had more good news for fans when he confirmed Bluebirds manager Malky Mackay is hoping to make further signings before the transfer window shuts on 31 August.
"I think Malky's looking to bring two or three more players in," he said.
"Not necessarily immediately but over the next few weeks and maybe one or two in January.
"Some of those will be more squad players and I think he's probably got one space he's still looking to fill in the starting line-up."

So will this mysterious new 1st first team regular be an attacker or a defender?

Got to be a defender surely! Would like an attacking RB or a solid CB. Both preferably though.

Hate to say it because I'm one of his biggest fans but Kevin McNaughton is probably going to have to be more of a squad player in coming years due to the fact he doesn't quite suit Malkys style in the way he likes to utilise the full backs as an attacking threat. Although I wouldn't be bothered if we didn't replace McNaughton as we do have a good balance with our full back with one (Taylor) being very good going forward whilst (Kev) is great defensively but not so going forward. What we must remember is that Darcy Blake could well be on his way out as well and if this happens we have no full back cover whatsoever. Even last year when we were lucky with injuries and suspensions we still missed Kev and Taylor for the odd game so cover/competition in both full back areas are still a concern for me.

I honestly think we'll bring in a right back (for starting eleven) a left nack and a centre back for cover. I also think we'll bring in another striker.

We need one full back if Darcy stays and two if he leaves. I only think we'll bring a striker in if Earnie moves elsewhere. Should be an interesting climax to the transfer window though!
