If ML keeps up his form.. January's window will be interesting... I know warnock won't sell but if we was looking at 10m for zohore a few weeks ago what will be looking at January for a player who may have scored more than KZ?

I really hope we hang onto our players and aren't tempted to sell. It would show our ambition as a club if we held onto the talent we have.

Even though it's early days, this season does seem like the best chance we've had at a crack at promotion since the Malky Red year.

Is there any reason why the transfer deadline extends so far into the start of the season?

It's daft and there have been discussions recently about it ending at the start of the season.

Seems the general consensus is to close it earlier but it needs 14 of 20 Premier teams to approve, not sure about the EFL. Theory is it could create a division in Europe given that all seasons start at different times but, personally, can't see that being an issue - clubs will adapt as they always have.
