Joining Blackburn is the word on the ground.

Bad move for him methinks.

Yes they are a club with £50million plus debt and appalling owners. If I was him I'd stick at City on a reduced deal. His missus is from South Wales, he's lived here for years, he's in his 30s, why move to a club in trouble like Blackburn?

Would be a bad move for him but why would he stay and play in a system and that he doesn't fit into at all?

He has family here now and Warnock obviously sees a place for him here, it's just that he would have less game time

Connolly has posted a pic of Whitts with a crying emoji, so he's deffo off.

He obviously wants game time but if it was my choice, I wouldn't have moved. I feel like Whitts is a spent force now so I'm not saying that because I'm sentimental but I feel that he would have retired here because the offer he had was still a basic wage of £500,000 a year or so from what I had read

Well it frees up £25,000 a week for other signings and he has been on a slow decline for a while now, so thank you Peter but it's probably the right move

It'll be sad to see him go, still a very good squad player, Blackburn are lucky to have him, (if true)

Thanks for the memories whitts!

It had to happen at some time. Better for us in League 1 than the Championship.

Quite, we won't have to face his set piece's next season!

Whitts has now officially gone to Blackburn on a two year contract.
Dropping down a division could be a good move for him but I can't understand the wailing and gnashing of teeth elsewhere about him leaving.
All players have a shelf life and he was approaching his sell by date.

He was a club legend and I thought he would see his career out with us...as you say, shelf life.

His legendary status will never be in doubt, that's for sure

I'm sure he will be banging them in for Blackburn and help them get promoted,

May be worth a few cheeky quid to have them to go up
