I will never forget this fixture in our Premier League season. David Marshall faced a PL record number of shots in a game that really exposed Malky Mackay's naive tactics.

Norwich are much fancied to go up this year, but haven't really got going yet. Let's hope that today is not the day that they do.

Some more optimism around this week as it comes to light that City might actually have a longer term plan after all. Looking forward to seeing how Lambert fits into the scheme of things and who might step down to make room for him. My team prediction......

Amos

Richards Peltier Morrison Connolly John

Gunnarsson Huws Whittingham

Immers Lambert

A valiant, but forelorn 1 - 2 loss..... **Official Match Day Thread - Norwich v City** 2925389657

The predicted glorious defeat! There will be better results when City don't play as well, I'm sure.

Substitutions seemed to be positive and City responded. Not at all downhearted by this loss.

Nope, not yet. Not a time for over reaction but there does need to be an improvement soon before the natives get restless

I agree Arkay. No need to be hasty because I don't think we're going anywhere this season but I've been watching the U23's and they play the 5-3-2 much better than the first team. Talking of the U23's, take a look at this goal from last week (it was even better in the flesh!).

We actually outgunned Norwich yesterday, with 14 shots (4 on target) to their 9 (3). Unfortunately, their 3 all counted, but I think that was a good performance for an away team.

However, still some way to go to match the Wurzels who had 35 shots (10 on target) at Rotherham. Nevertheless, Brizzle still needed two late goals to snatch a draw after conceding two soft ones.

A couple of positives for me.

Lambert looked decent enough from the highlights. Had his header been an few inches lower we are level and it's a different game. Pilkington is also now scoring goals.

If we lose to Leeds next weekend, regardless of the result at PNE, the pressure really will be on PT.

I may live to regret saying this, but I can actually see two wins from those games and kickstarting our season.
