A perfect example of domineering football. Hope we do that to Swansea one day

You know what I mean. I'm going to have a word with malky tell him to ditch the forwards. Far too expensive for what they deliver. Spain have shown the way

If we're going to score goals without forwards, we're going to need midfielders that are both skilful on the ball and able to move forward at pace. So we're going to need about 40 goals from Mutch, I reckon.

Whittingham has shown he can be a 20 goal a season man. We can do it. The new strip is not a lot unlike Spain's so no reason we can't play like them

20 from Whitts, 40 from Mutch, and Hudson banging them in from the rear (so to speak).....you've convinced me Judge, ole, here we go, strike the strikers from the teamsheet and move forward without fear! Bring it on!

If Cardiff started playing THAT style of football, I would no longer be a fan. I dont care how successful it can be, it's dull and not why I watch football.

I can see a Keep Cardiff Playing Long Ball forum being started soon.

Hey don't tie me down with that, I hate that tactic just as much haha.
And while they CAN score 4 goals in a match, invariably the result is always much lower. They play to keep the ball not nessecerily to score, and that's no fun. Barcelona play the exact same style and were beaten by Chelsea. It was negative football yes but it demonstrated that it's as beatable as any other tactic if you know how.
My final argument is, how much do you think the tactic caused the success, and how much is the presence of geniuses like Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas...

Why wouldn't such players want to come to an all conquering team?
Another system we could play is omitting the midfield altogether. Four forwards and six defenders wouldn't half confuse the opposition.

The Barcelona and Spain we see now has grown from the players they have acquired, I don't feel it's the other way around. Afterall let's be honest, it's even said before if Cardiff adopted it tomorrow it would be a disaster due to the lower caliber players we have. I doubt even the big premiership teams would do very well with it for the first few seasons.
Funnily enough I'd like your idea a lot more. I think my main issue is Spain are trying to do away with centre forwards, which would mean we'd never see your players like Messi, the old Ronaldo, Neymar, etc playing in their favoured roles again. And that'd be disappointing, a Messi dribble in full flight is brilliant to watch but wouldn't be favoured under theese philosophies.
