Cardiff City have only lost 4 of there last 22 Championship games

How many points have we picked up during that run?

Not sure

It's actually 4 defeats in 23 now.

Last 18 games last season W7, D7, L4 = 28 points

First 5 games this season W2, D3, L0 = 9 points.

That's 37 points for a half season, equating to 74 over a whole campaign. 12 points better than we managed last season, but still not good enough for a play-off place (at least 78 needed last season).

Too many drawn games.......

To add to this - wales online worked out on average over the last ten years, the team that finishes 6th in the championship earns 73 points. So on that tally we actually are in playoff form.

Does anyone actually believe that however? Still uncomfortable that we are yet to truly prove ourselves - we need to really truly throw a weak team to the lions for that.

I still think it's a bit to early to say what form we are in, because we could in theory lose the next 5'games and be down bottom end, early signs are looking good,

Like others until we have played 10 games that's then I will pass judgement on the team and spade

When I did the 23 - 46 game equation, I didn't include the goal difference.  I think that is a telling number....29 for, 24 against.  Plus 5 over half a season is hardly promotion or play-off form.

However, to put things in perspective, we are +3 for the first five games this season, which is not brilliant, but a darn sight better than the +2 we must have been for the final 18 games of last season.

It is also well worth looking at the difference between our home and away figures for those 23 games.

Given how poor we were away from home in the earlier part of last season, it's a pretty amazing turn around and automatic promotion form. Need to repeat that at home.

Win your home games and anything else is a bonus, at the moment I am blinded by the fact that we are unbeaten and thinking to myself perhaps rusty can do something with the squad, (no one was saying we would do well start of season where they?) and know people are talking about us being promotion contenders after 5 games it's laughable!!!

What we must remember is its only 5 games the window isn't shut yet, even though rusty has said Marshall ain't going anywhere if a offer of 7mill came in - he would be gone!! So I'm still unsure, Marshall is worth an extra 20 points a season to us,

In the past maybe we had to rely on Marshall, but that should not be the case with a better shape to the team.

City ran out of steam against Forest on Saturday, but had had far a greater share of the chances created until late in the game. That is something that ought to be addressed by increasing fitness levels and utilising all three substitutes...........something that Malky always did.

I'm unsure weather Moore would guarantee us the extra points like Marshall can
