30TH AUGUST 2015

BY TERRY PHILLIPS

As Tuesday's deadline approaches, the Bluebirds boss has his say on the two hot transfer topics surrounding his club

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade has re-iterated his belief David Marshall won’t be leaving the club before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.

Marshall continues to be linked with a £5m move back into the Premier League with West Brom, but Slade insisted after the 0-0 win at Notitngham Forest: “I can’t see anything happening with Marshall.

“He was excellent for us again and made two or three excellent second half stops to keep us firmly on top. We don’t want to lose our quality players and that’s what he is.”

Slade says he hopes to bolster his squad with at least one new signing, but batted away suggestions ex-West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan could be the man,

Asked about Nolan, Slade said: “No. Nice try, but I am not saying any more at the moment.

“We are still looking to get one in and that’s getting closer. I can’t tell you anything else.”

Of the victory at the City Ground, he said: “It was a good away team performance that turned into a bit of a carbon copy of last season’s fixture in the way we dominated possession, looked the better team and then caused ourselves a few problem towards the end.

“A couple of players who had done 120 minutes at MK Dons in midweek started to tire a little in the closing stages, but full credit. They stuck together, did their jobs and stayed on task.

“It was important to keep momentum going and we acquitted ourselves really well at times.

“We have made a solid start and performances have been good, but it’s no good looking at the table until we are at least 12 games in.”

If we weren't interested in Nolan surely slide would say we ain't interested but refusing to say anything else, surely means we r in talks?

He said we weren't interested in Tamas too, remember. This sort of thing means nothing nowadays.

Should imagine that Lindegaard is happier staying in the PL with WBA, so everyone a winner.............Marshall / Nolan 1525230823
