Sorry to break up the party chaps, but I hope that City give Slade the job, or he's going to be looking pretty silly......

It's all over bar the whinging.
Give the man a bloody chance I say, if things are not working out in Feb, then think again (Although three managers in a season wouldn't be great).
It's still very early in the season and no need to panic - remember when McDermott's Reading got promoted, they were still midtable in January

Resignation has been made official, Orient have released a statement. They are threatening to take us to court for tapping Slade up, while interestingly Slade also plans to take Orient to court for constructive dismissal, claiming the club were looking for alternatives but forced him into resigning so as to not pay compensation - they are also alleged to of turned down the 100K bid that would of met his release clause, another illegality.

Fantastic. It seems that anything our club touches turns to s**t.
I thought Tan was a proper businessman? Does he run all his businesses as unprofessionally as he runs Cardiff City FC??

To be fair, if we take Slade at face value we and Tan Have done nothing wrong - refusing an offer that meets the release fee is in breach of contract. It's not like we talked him into resigning because we proved we were more than happy to pay up.
Don't see Leyton Orient's problem here. They were on the verge of sacking him recently then they get offered money to get rid of him and now they're dragging out proceedings which can only be detrimental to both clubs. It's clear Slade doesn't want to be at that club anymore, so why not just take the money and move on?
Perhaps it's the Chairman as I seem to remember they had a similar approach - rightly or wrongly - to blocking West Ham's move to the Olympic Stadium.
Granted, they are a small club fighting tooth and nail for everything but there's fighting your corner and then there's being stubborn just for the sake of it.

The new ownership seems highly disliked, ironically.Normally resigning as manager to take over another club is a good way to make yourself an enemy, but Orient fans still seem to hold Slade in good esteem - 'he deserves better than Orient' is being used a lot on their forums.
Makes you wonder how bad the clubs management is over there if Cardiff City's is seen as better...

Barry Hearn was owner for a few years and it seemed a very happy well run club until a foreign owner took over.
Thank goodness we never had to go down that roa......................
