Following Malky's proper apology, does he deserve a second chance at some point in the future?

It was an 'I've been caught' apology, not a proper one.

I think it depends on how you read the whole situation. If it can be believed that Malky is basically not racist and just got caught up in texting a few inappropriate things because of his association with a much more bigoted Moody then there MAY be a case to say he deserves a second chance. However i would not blame any club for not being willing to give it to him or even entertain an interview for a job.

If you believe however that the content of the texts show a level of racism, a reflection of Malky's own thoughts and beliefs and if you believe the things said by Ibby Farrah about Malky then i think that shows a level of racism that simply apologising for cannot fix.

I just don't believe that someone reaches 40+ with those kind of views and can then be corrected of them. The most that would happen is that Malky would learn to be more circumspect and keep those thoughts to himself.

I wonder how others are seeing this in the game at player level. I can imagine a young, black player at youth level for his club being totally unhappy and disillusioned if Malky was appointed manager of the club he is at. It is not just about trying to build bridges - it is about convincing people that those views that are all over the press at the moment are no longer representitive of him or never were in the first place.

I'm guessing that Gloves is saying that Malky deserves a second chance.

However, as I see it, at the moment, we don't really know who said what in texts or emails.  I would imagine a lot more detail is going to come out and it will be interesting to see how the issues of agents' fees and related matters fit around all of this.

If, ultimately, it is demonstrated that Malky was a minor player, then he should be allowed to rebuild his career and reputation elsewhere......Eastern Europe, Turkey or the Middle East perhaps.

Innocent until proven guilty, but my feeling is that Iain Moody is the one going to be really hurt by all of this.

Similar opinion to Toast (again). If it was just the three texts then I think he can be given a second chance - I don't consider a text about Korean people eating dogs to be all that severe on the racism scale (I put up a 'of course Malky is racist - he's Scottish' comment on twitter, that could be perceived as just as bad but I don't expect to lose my job over it. Least I hope not Apologies & Second chances... 692773407 ). Maybe badly thought out, but not meant to cause outrage.

If he was indeed stealing money from the club, rejecting transfer targets based on their skin colour and insulting players to their faces however, no way.

No way. There's more to come out. This is the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, we're still waiting for the text that was racist, sexist and homophobic simultaneously.

And if it was Malky wouldn't he have said "that gay snake should be in the kitchen with her falsies out making Ibby's Egyptian curry like a good Fkin chinky"
