Just heard Neil Warnock on TalkShite say he thinks Malky will do well at Palace - "His teams always play with flair and he's not one for spending a lot of money".
I hope the weather will be nice in this parallel universe I appear to have woken up in.

Stinks of someone who has no clue making up an answer. What's the two best things to say about a a manager you know nothing about? - that they play good football and are good with the budget. 9 times out of ten you're very difficult to prove wrong, unfortunately this is the 1 out of 10 Warnock on Malky 692773407

Malky is now out of the running to become Palarse manager. What on earth does Tan have on him?!

A lot it appears. Sky Sports News this morning were virtually saying it's a done deal.

I always put it down to rumours, but this really is a strange one. He was dead cert to become their next manager - it wasn't even a case of "expected to become", it was "will be announced later today..." And then this.

This is, I reckon, to do with the impending legal action by City against Palace.

Moody is obviously the culprit here and, given the perceived problems M&M created at City, Malky's appointment might have turned into an embarrassment....perhaps Tan has threatened to go public to turn the screws in the present dispute.

It is certainly a strange one. A few twitter posts are linking the breakdown to disagreements over background staff. Now this could be confusion over part of the original problem of why Pulis left or it could be a continuation of the problem with the chairman trying to exercise more control over things that normally come under the responsibilities of the manager.

The confusing part of that would  be that you think those disagreements would have shown up and talks broken down talks before it seemed all but a foregone conclusion that Malky was getting the job.

There are a number of different possible reasons and it may be that we never get to know the real one until Malky's post retirement biography comes out - and not even then if there are things he would prefer not to write about.

Interesting everyone's assuming that the problem was Malky, not Crystal Palace. Tony Pulis didn't like something and walked away, what's to say Malky didn't like the sound of it either?

Yes - reports now coming in that Malky has actually turned down the job following talks with the Palace board. It could well be that the board are putting restrictions on the way things are being run that both Pulis and Malky couldn't live with.

Is presume it's to do with the transfer budget. The club want a mid table finish again, but I doubt they have the spending ability to allow that. The job was suicide, basically.

Also reports from the Mirror saying that Malky was regarded as damaged goods following intervention from Tan

Some accounts on twitter are starting to spread a rumour the board want a spend of no more than 5 million for the entire season, both Pulis and Mackay thought that was unviable considering ther expectations.

Just call me Sherlock Warnock on Malky 692773407

There is obviously a mini media frenzy at the moment (if that is not contradiction in terms) regarding the story. Claims of Malky turning the job down and of the offer of the job being removed by Palace are both doing the rounds. I am guessing that reports will begin to converge around one of those two scenarios over the coming day or two .... and that we can only guess then that the version most of the reports end up leaning towards is nearer the truth.

Malky needs to get his future sorted out as this kind of thing is ultimately damaging to him. However Palace do seem to be a bit of a mess behind the scenes at the moment.

Reports now coming in that in the middle of talks Steve Parish heard the distant sound of singing and opened the window to see what was happening.

Tan and Dalman were in the car park outside the window singing "Don't hire Mackay, Malky Mackay. I just don't think you understand."
