He's a youngster. I've seen him play and he's deadly in the box.

A youngster but at 21 one who probably needs to rise to first team level within a season or two if he is to make it here. Hopefully between himself, Healey and Gary Lavery we will have one player who will break through to first team level in seasons to come.
We need to start bringing a few more through the ranks like this rather than just buying in senior players all the time.

True enough, despite how promising our youth team remains only Declan John has truly ever shown signs of progression to the first team. What's the point of a youth squad if it's players never get a chance?

I think the current batch are not quite ready to break through into the first team yet as they are still too young, but Tom James, Lavery, Healey, Ellis Bellamy and Abdi Noor are all supposed to be up and coming. It's just a bit too early for them.

I reckon/hope he is a backup if our primary targets fall through. Realistically there's worse players we could be looking at - he has premier league experience and knows the championship like the back of his hand.
