Short term until January. Sensible move considering how low on the pecking order he will be this season. Still don't understand why we bought him though..

Apparently there's also an option to buy in there, so we might of seen the last of him before we have even really seen the beginning...

I think Ole wanted to bring in players that he knew in the first instance. That said, he was a managerial novice so far as the PL and Championship is concerned and presumably now better appreciates the difference in class between here & Norway.
BTW, where did you pick up this info Red?

You caught me, in plotting a deadline day move to Dundee United. They lost their old Messi, so thought they had room for a new one

I agree it is confusing. Malky made similar mistakes in getting players in he then seemingly didn't want - and was pulled up on it on numerous occasions. The truth is, i think, that those who have the biggest doubts about a manager will always be the first to spot them and point out those shortcomings.
All the best to Berget though. The extremely limited glimpses i had of him left me unconvinced by him but hopefully he can get a run of games for Celtic and begin to show them what he is about.

I certainly won't disagree with what you say, but I think the difference is the amount of money some of the discarded players cost and the fact that the "bum purchase" wasn't an isolated incident...............(TDA runs away quickly.......... )

No need to run TDA (insert laughing smiley here - bloody mobile).
Malky's mistakes were certainly more costly. How Ole would have faired with that budget we will probably never know. I would say that Berget and McNaughton shows it to be more than an isolated incident. I also know that you and others don't share my view and Red's that giving McNaughton a contract extension was a gaff. That is something we will have to differ on.

There's also talk this morning that he would like to give Mason a new contract before sending him out on loan.

Berget isn't good enough for us but I could see him being useful in the SPL
