I hope not. Reports on twitter say that Sunderland have bid for Jordon Mutch.

I agree about Campbell.  He would be excellent in the Championship, but if the PL is knocking at his door, then we can't blame him for opening it.  At the end of the day, he appears to have had a relegation clause in his contract, so this is an eventuality that he had considered when joining City.

As for Jones, obviously what I said above is tongue in cheek, but if he puts the effort in, then he could be a real asset.  If not, given the strikers we have, then I can't see OGS persevering with him.

I agree with you that if Jones gave 100% he would be a great player. The problem is, he hasn't for a few years now

Those type of players are always the most frustrating. Fans can often take to a player lacking ability but giving everything but not the other way around.

If we have ambitions of an immediate return to the Premier League we need players with a fair share of both.

Lots of reports on newsnow that Mutch is on the verge of signing for Sunderland for a measly £1.5mill?!? What the hell, surely we could of got more than that for him?

If true, that is an absolute steel.

It appears his contract only has a year to run but for that money I think we may as well keep him and try and get him to sign a new one.

A player that good should have been tied into a longer contract a year ago.

For £1.5m, it's worth keeping him for the Championship season and letting him go for nowt next summer. It certainly will cost more than £1.5m to replace him at the moment.

Pointless selling for £1.5m. I can't see him being the type to force a move away, so let's keep hold for at least another season.

It would be such a waste to lose a player like him so cheaply. Medel and Caulker, i think,  should go and Marshall probably will for the right price but i have hopes of hanging on to Mutch and Noone.

The contract situation is strange. Of course you can't force a player to sign a new contract so it could be that offers of a new contract were made but the talks were turned down at the time by Jordon or his agent awaiting the outcome of the season before committing further.  If not then it has been a shocking lapse by successive managers in not sorting things out before now.

Just found this one. What a jungle of rumours...

Cardiff City are braced to receive offers for three key players following their relegation to the Championship. Jordan Mutch, David Marshall and Steven Caulker are all set to leave the Welsh club after attracting strong interest from Premier League clubs. The Daily Mail are reporting that Sunderland have agreed at £1.5 million deal to take Mutch to the North East, as ex-Brighton boss Gus Poyet starts his plans for next season. Mutch impressed in the Premier League last season and finished as Cardiff’s top goalscorer. David Marshall is also set to leave Cardiff with rumours of interest from North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham heating up. It is rumoured Cardiff will command a staggering £15 million fee but Marshall’s Scotland team-mate Shaun Maloney has told Wales Online that this would reflect his true value. Finally, Wales Online are also reporting that Cardiff’s arch-rivals Swansea are lining up a move for defender Steven Caulker. Swansea will look at signing Caulker if they lose Ashley Williams and the ex-Tottenham man was a huge hit at the Liberty Stadium during his loan spell there in the 2011/12 season. It is set to be a huge summer of change at the Cardiff City Stadium.
