Given recent performances, there appears to be veiled optimism that we are not going to get slaughtered here.  We perhaps should not expect too much in terms of a result, but how the team acquits itself will be important.  A confident approach to our next four games might get us close to pulling off an escape act.  Even though we are at home, I think OGS will go five at the back and we might get a 2 - 2 tomorrow.

Yes - the best we can hope for is a dignified close defeat.

I too expect that we will see a similar setup to the spurs game - although with the way that ole has been so far you never know

We can catch Liverpool on the break, anyone can as their defence is poor. The problem is taking the ball off them and keeping Suarez and Sturridge quiet, which most teams cant do.

5 at the back is the best policy, probably with a double mark on Suarez. We then need bucket loads of pace so that when we do get the ball we can be on them before they have time to collect themselves. TDA seems to be on the money with Fabio and John as wingbacks with Bellamy and Campbell up front.

My feelings for this game can be summed up with a look at my fantasy football team; I've got Suarez and Sturridge up front.

The only thing that has given me hope for this game is Gerrard saying Liverpool are contenders for the title, after their decimation of Man Red. I can imagine Brenda and the rest of the Liverpool squad putting their hand on their head after he said that. I mean he's right, they certainly are contenders, but I think they would've been happier sneaking along with all the attention on Man Blue and Chelsea. So I'm hoping Gerrards words put pressure on the team and has a negative effect...yeh, hoping, but what more do we have?

I originally had Hazard as my captain, but just changed it to Sturridge  **Official Pre-Match Thread - City v Liverpool** 692773407

Sorry guys, Liverpool are so good right now, they won't give away any points in this game.
I really hope Cardiff will give 'em a tough game, but thats about it I reckon....
At least a close game will give 'em a continuing belief in themself and a further boost in confidence **Official Pre-Match Thread - City v Liverpool** 1525230823 Then they'll be ready to get the much needed points in the rest of the season especially against the teams in the bottom half of the table.

Yes I think you are right - a confidence builder ready for the games in which we have the real possibility of picking up points.

Gutted - I've got a new student starting today. The only time he is free is 15:30-17:30 :-(

So I'm going to miss the game - don't know if this a curse or a sweet mercy!

Don't worry Rhys, I'm sure he'll understand if you spend the whole time staring at your phone. The wall he starts heading straight towards might though **Official Pre-Match Thread - City v Liverpool** 692773407

Jesus, Andre Marriner has a lot of explaining to do at Chelsea v Arsenal. Oxlade-Chamberlain handballa in the area and concedes a penalty, and Marriner shows Kieran Gibbs the red card. You don't want to call it racist but... **Official Pre-Match Thread - City v Liverpool** 692773407

Spot on with your team TDA. Puzzling that KTC starts but Turner is on the bench.
