Caulker Linked With Move

Brendan Rogers has been linked with a move for Caulker in the summer - presumably to replace Skrtel so he could sign for Wasps or Harlequins?
I actually said at the weekend he would be a perfect fit for Liverpool if we go down - if only I'd said it on here!

Good luck to him!  A very good player who will be even better when surrounded by those of similar ability. Even so, I am sure he will have learned valuable lessons at City........

He's been terrible this season, am I the only one who thinks that? Take away the price tag, and what's the difference between him and a standard defender?

He's a 21 year old centreback, I think they are always going go make mistakes. If you think about the very best centrebacks in the game - Thiago Silva, Vincent Kompany, Nemanja Vidic, etc, they have all gained their true reputations at much older ages than other positions. Vidic is a good example - he was 24 when he joined Manchester United but didn't really establish his place in the team until three years later.

I think having a centreback pairing as young as our ow was always a risk and it's one that both of our managers this season have failed to truly address. Youth breeds mistakes and mistakes breeds low confidence - especially in youths.
