Encouraging performance- first thoughts
Page 1 of 1 • Share
Here are my first thoughts;
Great first half - I was just desperate for us to score that first half goal because I knew Lambert would sort his team out at the break.
Second half looked second best and Noone barely touched the ball the whole half.
Stand-out performances from Turner, Caulker, Medal and Marshall. Shame to lose Mutch
Sadly, a point not enough but something to build on.
What is everyone else's gut reaction?

Agree with that and add KTC to list of decent performances.

Agreed good performance but still lacking that spark up front.
Unfortunately we're well past the point where quality of play matters - we need points, regardless how ugly we need to play to get them.

Brilliant first half, we did seem a little off the boil after the break, Same line up should've been used at Swansea game, anyway I've seen enough tonight to think we can actually go on and win games but can we stay up???..... im not to sure

To be fair, it SHOULD of been enough. Someone needs to send the referee a video of that penalty call on jones and I want him to explain how that isn't a penalty. The defender was nowhere near the ball and pulled Jones over onto his backside with the referee five yards away.
All four members of the BT sport panel said it was a penalty, with zero hesitation. The whole conversation was literally this -
'So guys, was it a penalty?'
'Yes'

I despair of refereeing in this league after the number of times we have seen City players virtually rugby tackled in the box this season.
They say there are two divisions in the Premier and this applies to decisions as well - off the field as well as on it after the Bellamy/ Toure farce.

Yup, agree all round here and I knew the second half would get a lot tougher if we didn't score. It felt like we were chasing the game at the end (and necessarily so) and got exposed way too often. In the end only Marshall earned us the point.
Only John had a bit of a rough game at the back and mainly in a positional sense. He kept getting caught out which meant Turner had to come across and cover, which in turn left gaps. What a game Turner had though!
And yes, absolute penalty! I think we should forget about staying up this season and just focus on getting a penalty instead

We have to hope everyone in the bottom half drops plenty of points and we start winning more!
