Bellamy, our best player on the pitch yesterday, has been called up by the FA for apparently punching De Guzman during the match, an incident that wasn't seen by Andre Marriner. It looks like an open and shut case for a three match ban on a violent conduct basis.
Unfortunately, Bellamy isn't getting any smarter as he gets older. A great performance and nearly an outstanding goal, but then he loses his temper again and does something silly that jeopardises everything. He could of just put the nail in the coffin for our chances of staying up.

Heard this earlier, mind you I still think Campbell can do a job and maybe Ole will even try Berget or Daehli.

I don't think he will be that great a loss. This could be the opportunity to start Campbell & Jones together.

Or maybe throw Eikrem or Daehli in at the deep end. When you look at it that way I almost want it to happen to test OGS faith in his disciples...

I kind of agree, Bellamy has been poor this season other than for, say, a game-and-a-half over the last week.

As expected, Bellamy is banned for three matches starting tonight. As this article points out though, yet again the FA create more questions than they answer. What about Rangel kicking Zaha off the ball, that wasn't spotted either? Or worse, how did Yaya Toure's deliberate kick of Ricky Van Wolfswinkel while he was on the ground go unpunished?
I think the Toure incident has a reason - the FA don't want to ban their biggest stars. Unless they force their hand, like Suarez, they would rather the likes of Toure, Rooney and Torres get away with just a slap on the wrist. Big club bias in action.

Too much inconsistency for sure, but at least the retrospective action is a step in the right direction. It's up to pressure groups to make the system fairer.
I still think the Andy Carroll ban is correct, as, to me, there was definite intent, even thought he only grazed the top of Chico's head. That said, the process should also allow for action to have been taken against Chico for simulation.

Gordon Mitch - another post deadline day signing.

At a time when we need an experienced player like Bellamy to be calm and focused, and have an influence of calm and focus passed on to the other players, he lets his team-mates down, lets the fans down and lets the club down.
I always believe Craig is a great addition to have at the club, but it's hard to excuse this behaviour, especially after having a go at the fans.
Luckily we can afford to have him miss out for a few games, might even prove to be a blessing in some way.

I hope we don't appeal as we would only lose him for one match in reality. I doubt if he would have played tonight or in the cup so Hull at home would be the only 'loss'.

It's be pretty audacious to appeal considering how obvious the whole thing was. But I suppose the club have done stranger things
