The transfer took longer than Eikrems because united had (don't know the direct translation for it) "first rights" "dibs" or whatever the correct word is. So he has been in talks with United to join them but chose Solskjær and Cardiff. Source: http://www.tv2.no/2014/01/11/sport/cardiff/fotball/premier-league/5215471#.UtGeFGTuJ38

Expect to see some better signings by Solskjær soon as these two signings (at least Dæhli) are not players that will keep Cardiff off relegation. Saw the game today and the need of a striker that targets the goal and not the keeper is crucial for survival.

Thanks Ludd!

Can you give us a bit of info on Mame Biram Diouf? His signing appears imminent and we are hoping he may be somewhat more of a clinical goalscorer than our present offering

He is a fast, big striker. Played in Molde before Solskjær was there, and while Solskjær was reserves team manager in Man United. He was way too good for the Norwegian PL so he was going abroad to some team. Solskjær then obviously pulled some strings at Man United and they signed him. Played ok to good at united but didnt get many chances and had really hard competition. Seems like he has done well in the Bundesliga but I dont follow that league too closely. Definitely has the potential to be a good striker in BPL, and I think it is likely that he would be the best striker for Cardiff from day one. I think Dæhli and Eikrem are signings for the future, but Diouf would make an impact from day one. Could be a good signing for any team at the bottom half of BPL. He is a goal scorer.

He's as fast as Campbell with a stature like Cornelius. If he has an eye for goal, he could be a godsend...

Great to here that he could make an impact for us in an area we are struggling in!

Any other Norwegian players on the move?

I really think Diouf would be a great signing. I hope no more Norwegians or anyone with links to Solbakken signs after Diouf. I think the Solskjær/Solbakken link is shady and not good at all. In the Norwegian league Solbakken would sign players and then Solskjær would sign them a year later. I do not like this link at all. Solskjær was part owner of Solbakkens agancy while he was a player and they are best friends. As for Norwegians I hope he does not sign any more, because of the pressure on the players, club and Solskjær himself. Cardiff has signed the biggest talent in Norwegian football in Dæhli and one of them in Eikrem. Other than them you have a big talent in Nyland and Stefan Johansen that probably will sign for Celtic in the near future. However a full norwegian team would not survive in the BPL so I hope he does not sign any more of them now.

As a good comparison Björn Bergmann Sigurdarson was dominant in the Norwegian PL, really one of the best players I've ever seen play in it. He played some games for Wolves last season in the Championship but isn't even in the squad in League One this season. He did however not score as many goals as Diouf, Diouf is a goal scorer and I guess that could work at any level.

Thanks for the info Ludd. Yes we are aware of the Solbakken/Solakjaer connection, hopefully it won't impact Cardiff negatively
