Off to Palace if Pulis has his way. He's just finished building/renovating a house in South Wales so it may have to take a good offer, but if we brought in someone even better then it's fine with me

Not a chance in hell unless we see another centreback arrive in January, which is unlikely. He's our first choice if either Caulker or Turner can't play, and then in terms of realistic options only Connolly is left. It would be ridiculous to let him go.
I can't see this happening at all either - Hudson surely would be desperate to wait for a chance in the PL.
As Red said, he is our third choice cb. Even if we managed to get another player in January, can't see mm letting him go due to squad depth

Hudson's own view on things also needs to be considered. He must be bitterly disappointed that he hasn't been part of things this year and, knows, realistically, that he won't get near the first team without injury or suspension to Caulker or Turner.
He is now 31 and was one of our best players last year, as he has been every year. Given the undercurrents at City, one last big payday and the chance of PL football at a previous club, under a good new manager might be tempting.
At CB, Connolly is a capable deputy. He just isn't a full back.

He's too slow for us as we are trying to be progressive and build on our position. Palace are desperately trying to survive without spending big and he would do a job for them as they aren't looking for players as high a calibre as us

Is he going to wait for his chance? With the personnel we have brought in his chances are limited and at 31 if this story is true then Pulis is offering a place in the starting line-up week in week out.
He may just go for this as not all players want to be on the bench every week and not playing regular football or being a backup player for injuries.
For me I think he will be gone soon.

Plus he's a Londoner and ex-Palace player so the move may be appealing to him in many ways.

Well someone must be coming in. They won't be relying on Connolly as he has looked out of his depth at this level

Wouldn't out third choice centre back be Medel?
Whitts could then drop back into that role, freeing up a midfield place for Gunnarsson?

I suppose he does play there for chile but if it happened surely it would be Gunnarsson as the defensive midfielder?SteWells wrote:Wouldn't out third choice centre back be Medel?
