Welcome everyone to another RBMB thread of Today's Football News. In todays news that I could give a crap about:

- Rumors are a wash that the Bellamy deal is all but done and we should hear an announcement today (source:other mb - so probably bull)

- Midfielder Joey Barton has been fined six weeks wages by club and loses QPR captaincy. (BBC News)

- Blackburn's Nigerian striker Yakubu is due to arrive in China on Monday to seal a move to Guangzhou R&F.

- Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace winger Sean Scannell for an undisclosed fee, subject to a medical.

- Scottish clubs will be consulted over merging the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League.

Discuss!

Re the transfer rumour mill......last week we were all applauding Malky for bringing Mutch in under the radar without any advance rumours appearing. Now we have an abundance of rumours about signing Bellamy, which again we are all applauding. Why the difference? Is it Bellamy's higher profile making it more difficult to keep a lid on?

More importantly, why are rumours always manufactured in a mill, rather than, say, a factory? Is it because of the large amounts of bread involved?

I'd love to have Bellamy back at City.

I rate Scannell as a decent player, so surprised he's not gone to one of the 'bigger' Championship teams.

(For some reason I was hearing an imaginary *bong* sound in the style of ITN News after reading each one of those. It gives them more credence somehow.)

I guess you could start a rumour factory? Lead the football world into the new industrialised future?

It's a bit of shame regarding Scannell - I wouldn't of minded him coming to us. Why he signed for Huddesfield I don't know - surely he had more options than that?

I could work on that for the next addition? Also, I was typing in the voice of Trevor McDonald - I hope that came across.

On a related point, when did the phrase 'jungle drums' fall from popular usage?

Is that all for Barton? I'd want rid of him if we Hughes!

Yakubu is now a money grabber, no surprise there.

About time they reform Scottish football, although it'll still be crap.

I agree with others on Scanell, gutted we didn't get him.

gReAt UpDatE!

Seriously, this is a nice idea.

Do the new Scottish football proposals include merging it into two divisions (so it's more akin to the Italian/Spanish league set up) or retaining their current four league structure? Playing the same team four times a season never struck me as interesting in the first place and this would be a good opportunity to consider that.

Leeds United reach agreement with potential investor.

"Leeds are closing in on new investment after reaching an exclusivity agreement with one potential investor.

The Championship club, who were bought by Ken Bates in 2011, confirmed last month that they were in talks over "investment for the long-term future"
