An interesting looking programme on BBC Wales at 10.35 tonight talking about how both clubs have overcome hooliganism and forged new identities.
Hopefully it won't turn into a JB love-in.

Just put it to record,
Some truly embarrassing "banter" on twitter after this
Makes me glad I'm buggering off to France again and avoiding all this silliness until the game actually starts.

It does have to be said, derbies aren't the best advert for the sport. One of the key issues for a non-football fan is the thug mentality they claim is rife. Unfortunately, that's rife around a derby.
I enjoy it (as a game!), but I wouldn't take family.

Sadly, I'll be missing my first home match for a long time on Sunday because I can't face going.
I've always hated losing to the JB's and the thought of us performing like we have been and being played off the park is too hurtful to contemplate. Also, I've got a bit fed up recently of spectators standing up in front of me just to point and shout at the away support - this will be ten times worse this weekend.
Consequently I will be in my armchair, cuddling little Slumdog and a nice bottle of red whilst shouting at the tv.
If we win I'll be just as pleased as if I was there but if it goes against us I'd rather be at home than trudging out of the ground listening to the pathetic 'swim away'.

This is also bothering me. There's a couple of idiots that sit around the 112 area to the left of the ninian stand (that look like they're in their 40's mind) that are increasingly annoyingly me as the season goes on. These are people that look like perfectly normal individuals outside of the ground (I've seen them before), but that turn into snarling animals once the whistle goes. It seems like they've had intimate relations with the sister and mother of every single fan of every single team in England. If the referee blows the whistle against Cardiff for anything at all they're threatening to assault him, and one of them was removed for throwing a plastic cup at the official the once. It's just emberassing.Cyncoedslumdog wrote:Sadly, I'll be missing my first home match for a long time on Sunday because I can't face going.

That and people that stand on the stairs because they chose to leave but then something exciting happens. You left your seat, you made your choice, if you miss something Yaya your problem. Don't screw up everyone else's view.

A few idiots seem to have gained entry to that level as well Dave. The fact that they can afford tickets up there doesn't alter their behaviour. The only difference is that others on level 4 won't tolerate their excesses and they get 'shouted down' or the Stewards do their job and warn them. Sadly it's not a football problem, rather one of the society which we have become.davewebber65 wrote:glad i am up on level 4
