Which 2 (or 3) do you expect to miss out on the named 25 man squad?

Excluding Velikonja and Kiss who i think everyone believes have no chance of being named in the 25 man squad anyway i make it that we have 27 players who don't qualify as under 21 who need to be brought down to 25. If Cornelius, as a big money signing, is given a place in the squad and not just used as an under 21 player then 3 players would have to miss out.

My money is on Lappin, McNaughton and Conway to miss out (what i think Malky will do) though my own personal choices would be Lappin, McNaughton and Smith.

(This is based on the Brayford rumours being foundless or exaggerated - if they aren't Brayford almost certainly to miss out)

Lappin, Smith and, dare I say it, Mason. Think he might be loaned out with a view to a permanent move.

Bigger clubs have done it of course because they have enough faith in the players they have - them all being such high quality. I take your point it may not be worth doing ourselves but if Malky is sure that there are players he will not use then he just may not include them even if there are places available.

I can't see any benefit in including Cornelius, which would leave two to miss out.  Having given SuperKev a new contract and played him at Accrington, I think he is in, so probably Lappin and Conway, although Conway was Malky's first signing and has never let the side down.......maybe Mason out on loan......

Well it seems that the actual deadline for submitting the 25 man squad is tomorrow night. I am not sure if this is to give clubs the chance to add free agents quickly after the deadline (Fulham did it a few years back with Danny Murphy i believe) or just to give extra time for clubs to decide after the final day transfer flurry.

One interesting thing to note. According to the list on premierleague.com's website when City submitted their intial squad list with numbers just before the start of the season Simon Moore's name was missing. Either that or the site has missed his name out.

Could it be an indication of only going with 2 goalkeepers in the squad? That would sound risky to me.

Well spotted Toastie! That could be the answer. This may be not such a risk, as I believe that emergency loans of goalkeepers are allowed........
