as far as match reports are concerned, i have to add the my journey was uneventful. no bombs, so no season ticket to be pinched from my person.
1. whitts played a sweeping role in front of the back four, seemed more comfortable there, suspect that is due to being used to it.
2. noone and smithy are certainly not the answer out wide as they got very little change from the chevio defence.
3. kim was highly influential and took his goal well. was if i remember a failed corner clearance.
4. they rotated their side well as they all looked comfortable and lost nothing to a sub. they were a good side.
5. thought turner was immense at the back and when caulker subbed mark hudson his first header was down and to players foot. impressed.
6. our two full backs, brayford and declan john were fine. john brayford appeared a little nervous about going forward, maybe orders, but first real outing. declan john, he sure is one for the not very distant future. really impressed by the teenager and he did not look out of place or his depth.
7. they only had about three or four shots and they were on target

Malky may be viewing Declan John as he did with Nugent.....if he is good enough, he is old enough.......particularly as cover. Lappin & Taylor are ahead of John, so I see no need to get anxious over the left back position.

With Caulker's arrival, Malky has the luxury of letting Nugent go on loan to gain experience and the confidence that will come with it. You do have to wonder how things might have turned out with Darcy Blake, if Malky had been incharge during his "formative years".......... two gentlemen of verona - well, sort of 4228682415
