So another one gets away.
As I just said, I'd prefer not to sign him. Nonetheless though if we do lose him to Stoke, that means of the five targets we know Malky was interested in, he's lost four of them. Aiming too high?
Not aiming high, just being realistic about the quality needed to remain / succeed in the Premier League. What worries me is Malky's failure in attracting such players. I don't think Gus Poyet would have such problems......
He does seen to be adjusting to the change in context far too slowly. In the championship we were one of the top dogs, so any championship quality player would be looking for our signature above 90% of others. Now however, we're relegation favourites, and 9 times out of ten we're going to lose in a bidding war with any other club.
It's difficult, but it didnt stop Southampton, Swansea or QPR bringing in big names (Yes QPR were relegated but they still brought in their targets).

Disappointing if we lose out to bloody Stoke? I would have thought they are more relegation bound than us! Must be money related?
I think Southampton and QPR spent big in wages and fees to sign their targets though, bigger than we are. And Swansea purchased some good cheap players plus made some astute loan signings for their first year.
