If I wanted someone to spend the whole match stood on the half way line, passing the ball only when it's safe and even then only back to the defence or the player next to him, I'd sign myself. It's not exactly a hard job, and I'd be much cheaper. (Yes, that's what she said too)

According to the sun Mike Williamson is set to leave Newcastle for Cardiff City in a 2 million pound switch http://www.sportinglife.com/football/transfer-centre/paper-talk
Wouldn't be a bad signing, always liked the look of him when I've seen him play. Think 2 mil might be steep for an injury prone 29 year old though. 1 mil would look like good business.glasgowronnie wrote:According to the sun Mike Williamson is set to leave Newcastle for Cardiff City in a 2 million pound switch http://www.sportinglife.com/football/transfer-centre/paper-talk

just read on twitter bluebird gossip. Cardiff city are not interested. Strange how they say this when they are linked with so many players

that's what I thought..
Had some stick off one Fulham and one Aston Villa fan (yes, both of them are from Pontypridd in case you were wondering!) on Twitter for posting my thoughts about the Allen rumour. The level of football knowledge from the plastic Premier League armchair fan is outstandingly awful. Mind you, if I got everything I know about football from Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness' post-match analysis, I'd probably be a retard too.

No thanks...completely overrated and a jack.
.....it wasn't always like this........
Trevor Ford, Ivor Allchurch, Mel Charles and Barrie Jones, all Cardiff ledgends, but Swansea born and played for the Swans before coming to City. Barrie Hole was also Swansea born, but started with City before finishing up at Swansea........
I'm sure Tonker and Cyncoeds'dog would be able to come up with further examples from an altogether gentler era......

Probably worth having but only if Liverpool make a massive loss on the fee.

John Toshack, David Giles, David Penney, Jimmy Gilligan, Jason Bowen, Chris Marustik, Nigel Stevenson, Anthony Bird, Alan Curtis, Don Murray, Roger Gibbins, Brayley Reynolds, Warren Feeney, Robbie James, Andy Legg.
They all played for both City and the Jacks one way or the other - some on loan. There are probably loads more.
