Anybody else watching this? Benfica have done everything but score. They've played some genius football and Chelsea really have a team on their hands here. Be lucky if they make it to halftime still 0-0.

It certainly won't be interrupting my viewing of The Apprentice mind.

I have a feeling this makes Chelsea the first team to hold both the Champions League and Europa league (and their predecessors) at the same time.

Fernando Torres and Juan Mata are also the first footballers to ever simultaneously hold the -

-Europa league trophy
-Champions league trophy
-World Cup trophy
-Euro trophy

Torres has also had a 20+ goal season, not bad for a flop...

You can bend the statistics anyway you like, Torres is a dreadful striker.

I don't see how saying he's scored over twenty this season is 'bending the statistics', because, you know, he actually has scored over twenty this season? 6 in 6 games in the Europa League run too.

He's not consistent, ill give you that much. At his worst he's pretty laughable, but at best he's stil good enough for Spain to put him up front.

He must have scored around 35 goals in his last 200 games. You have three of the best playmakers in the world playing off him, yet his scoring record does not jump out.

He's scored closer to 70 in his last two hundred games. I'm well aware that's still not great, but accusing me of bending statistics but then straight away pulling an incorrect number out of thin air is hipocritical, frankly.

Besides, using four seasons of combined goals is also pretty unfair, as it assumes a player is always playing at a constant level and never dips or peaks. On a season by season basis, his first season with Chelsea he only scored once in 18 games. His second he scored 11 in 22. This season he's currently up to 22 in 63 games, his joint second highest haul in his career. If the trend continues he'll be topping 30 next season.

He's not the best striker in the world, if te likes of Falcao showed up he's e rightfully benched for the rest of his Chelsea career. But to call him awful considering he's scored vital girls in the World Cup, European cup, champions league and Europa league is very unfair.

He's better off going back to Spain and rebuilding himself in the less physically demanding liga BBVA. Since he left Liverpool his confidence has been ruined and bye and large he has been a shadow of his former self. We all know that had £50million plus wages etc not been invested in him, he wouldn't be getting near the starting XI. Good player but at present definitely not a Champions League player.
