Appears to be a lot in the news about this at the moment with regards to benefits capping. So, assuming you didn't have children to feed, would you honestly say you can live off £12 a week food shopping?
Before I moved back home for my final year I was spending around £40 that would last me at least a month, if not longer, so I've basically done it. All it requires is a lot of vegetables to bulk up food and plenty of rice/pasta/noodles dishes. The easiest way I found was to swap fresh meats for frozen Quorn as well. You'd get double for your money and have the luxury of being able to keep it in the freezer. Being the tight bastard that I was, it also allowed me to give up sugar in my tea. That stuff is white gold, no way was I needlessly spending money on that!
It also helped that I shopped in Lidl. You honestly can't beat Lidl on prices. Cracking shop that. Particularly on alcohol too.
F**k it, its better that Trashes attempt at 50 credits right?
