Got away with that. I certainly heard some. School-yard stuff really and something I certainly don't condone or take part in.

There was a documentary on a couple of months back made by John Fashanu's daughter about systemic homophobia in football. They interviewed Matt Lucas and when they told him that opposing fans chanted 'does your boyfriend know your here' and 'we can see you holding hands' he sort of laughed it off. I'm not condoning it... far from it... but there are parallels with the sheep sh*gger chants that we have embraced... not sure when banter crosses the line and becomes criminal but as most banter... even light hearted... is intended to provoke... its a tough line to draw in the sand....I suppose one clear delineation is that sexual orientation is a protected characteristic in the Equality act so offence caused to these groups may be more easy to police and enforce...

I hope this doesn't encourage Mr 'Sheep sheep your a liar' to join the debate...

Its no wonder we won family club of the year. We're the only ones who didn't abuse Brighton.

I get the feeling they haven't complained about us because they know full well they used Sheep Shagger chants in those games, because to be honest, having been to Brighton with the City, I find it hard to believe we weren't lobbing homophobic banter thier way.

There are some really simple folk down at the football that will chant anything...not realising what they are really saying...like a bunch of thick sheep.

There was a chant aimed at them from the Canton end when we played them. I thought it was quite funny coat

Yes I picked up on that.... it was one of the common chants which at the time seemed innocuous enough but would be listed in this article...
