Its been a fairly shite couple of weeks following the City... Today was a brilliant result but more importantly a brilliant performance.... I intend to drink heavily and perhaps meet the Welshfella down the docks to taste his flapjacks...
Anyone else celebrating?

I'm gonna sleep like a good'un.
I like to drink hard, but sleep even harder.

I've still got some green shield stamps and a postal order.. If this isn't enough I'll have to make do with 'bob a job' Tachethewelshfella wrote:Don forget to bring your wallet this time

I find it difficult to sleep 'hard'... however it does stop you rolling out of bed...

I'm quaffing a pint of Celt Dark Age bitter, brewed (or crafted as the bottle says) in Caerphilly.....and very nice it is, too.

Stayed out, had a pint in the Prince of Wales and then back to Caldicot for a few more celebratory pints and some chicken and chips on the way home. Top stuff!
Feeling it today though, particularly as that all dayer yesterday was on the back of a stag do in Newcastle Friday to Sunday. I've barely spoken to anyone in the office all day!
And that was my 1000th post. Three cheers for Caldi...

Caldi - how did you like Nucassel? I have lived here for 26 years, always interested in impressions of the place

From what I saw - or remembered what I saw - I quite liked it. Friday morning we were on it (lads, lads, lads, lads) from the off so by the time I got there I was smashed so can't remember much about what I saw.
Saturday I took a walk around the City Centre, went down to the City Hall (?) to see the Alan Hull plaque, my old man is a massive fan (of Hull, not plaques) so wanted to see it. Thought the City centre was nice enough, but couldve been anywhere in the country really.
Found the taxi drivers all really friendly and a good laugh (all Newcastle fans), but the bouncers were tossers (got kicked out of a club when one of out lot was punched). It was alright in the night, but again, it coulve been any City centre in the UK.
Problem with these stag do's is that you never really get to enjoy the surroundings and take in the culture. Might've well just gone to Cardiff for 2 nights really!
