Would you personally back this campaign?
For us regular users, we have really come to enjoy the little community that is starting to develop on this forum. A place to share your views and discuss the football without the taste of change souring all our topics.
The forum has been alive for less than a year and any good and lively community can take a significant time to grow and develop.
As enjoyable as things are currently however, I would love it for this place to be a lot busier....so I was wondering how I could do that. Those who have been here a while will know that I have tried many incentives to give this place a kick-start, all at personal expense. In the past, I have given away:
A signed Earnshaw Photo
A signed Whittingham Photo
A year's free subscription to City Player
Created the Credits Store
Various other competitions that I can't remember doing...
All of which, has realised little success. So what is left? Well this idea, may be a little nuts/ambitious so I just want to sound it out for peoples opinions...
I want to explore the possibility of this forum having a Stadium perimeter advertising banner for the whole of next season. I believe we would be the the first forum to consider the idea and it would target the exact type of people we would like to attract.
It would be great exposure for us and it would certainly get people talking....
Although this could be quite pricey, it is not as much as I thought. After doing a bit of digging, it looks like stadium advertising goes from £43 a game (probably plus VAT) - for a season. Realistically, I am looking at £1500 to get this idea off the ground.
Considering that I am will be swapping jobs in August (driving instructor here I come!) and the mrs is on maternity, there is no way that I would be able to cough all this up myself.
So here goes. I wondered about running a little forum campaign to raise the money - raising it through many different methods, through donations and fundraising events etc (cake sale or something - ideas please). We would have a number of months, between now and the beginning of the season, to raise the dosh.
I have the idea that the banner would obviously say something like 'Redbluebirds.com - a new fan forum' (very open to suggestions). But significantly, as a thank you, we could put the forum usernames of all the 'backers & donors' in a namecloud (google namecloud if you are not sure what one is) - the bigger backers will fill a bigger space - and have it as the banners background image.
What does everyone think of the idea? You can answer anonymously through the poll question too (poll open to guests)!

TWF can raise all the money by becoming a master baker? I'd buy a cookie off him!
Just realised how dodgy that sounds.

Also I'd help out in any way I can. Though as a student, money is not my strong point

£5 a handjob
£10 a blowjob
£25 a protected quickie
£50 bareback
£100 to stay the night

Appreciate the enthusiasm welshfella ( you've been waiting for a good excuse to give the new career change a go haven't you?) don't worry though, I wouldnt dream of asking so few to bare the whole burden! Hopefully there will be a few more (aka my mum & dad ;-) amongst others) who would be willing to back the campaign.

It could be worth sponsoring the matchball, which costs £1,000 plus VAT, but this gets you 8 seats in the prawn sandwich area, including 3 course meal and booze.
I'd be happy to chip in for an 8th share.
