The Highways Agency said that anybody travelling today should take a shovel, blankets, sleeping bag, extra clothing including hat, scarf and gloves, 24 hour supply of food and drink, rock salt, de-icer, torch, safety triangle, tow rope, petrol can, first aid kit and jump leads.
I followed their instructions but I looked a right twat on the bus this morning.

I've just walked out through my front door and gone A over T on frozen steps. Mrs TDA has gone out earlier and used a kettle of warm water to defrost her windscreen. I think she thought a good idea to use the rest of the kettle to get rid of the frost on the steps...
.....no snow as such here, but -4°C during the night and still not above freezing at lunchtime.

The guy on BBC Wales news last night said to make sure if you were travelling by car today, to take warm food and clothes. I think he meant food and warm clothes!
