Providing he gets through the mid-week friendly. Of course, he will be on the bench.

But once fully fit, would you put straight back into the starting line up? I think I would. Move Noone back over to the left and have Smith on the right.

Then leave it for Kim and Conway to push for a starting place.

I think Tommy Smith is a great player, nothing to do with 14 being my favourite number, and Ipswich are a good team to return against. However McNaughton and Mutch both returned, after lengthy time off, a bit rusty so I would let Conway retain his starting spot and give Smith 30 minutes. Hopefully ready for 90 minutes against Blackpool and Leicester

We need Smith back on that wing as soon as he's back to full capabilities. It might take some adjusting as you've both said but our right wing has struggled without him. Conway has been too sporadic in his performances, and Kim likewise hasn't delivered the same effect. Tommy seemed to be able to get on the end of a cross everytime and also throw them in himself easily too. Noone and Smith on the wings supporting Bellamy and whoever the new guy will be I'd a truly impressive attacking prospect.

By Poseidon's pantyhose that's great news... I think Smith will give us a lot more options and oomph... I'd give him a half... probably first half and then take him off

Great news. Smith adds more to the central two than either Conway or Noone. Let's get the new striker in and up we go.

Got some great options out wide now - Conway, Kim, Noone and Smith can all add something different IMO
