Highlights -
"There won't be much business done in January," Mackay said.
"There's nobody in the squad that I want to leave the club," Mackay.
"If come January the reasons for someone going out on loan would purely give them a wee bit of experience."
Mackay is hopeful striker Tommy Smith will be fit to return in the New Year.
"He's outside doing work which is good. I'm positive that I'll have him for over 20 games."
Mackay is pleased captain Mark Hudson is available for Saturday's game at the King Power Stadium after serving a one match ban.
"He's been a real good leader for us and has put very consistent performances in."

I really hope that we do strengthen in January both in defense and up front. My worry is that the January transfer window is harder to get the right players at the right price. Will Malky's targets come to nothing if other clubs set their prices too high?

I wouldn't mind at all if we only got two players in, as long as they are first team players. With McNaughton seemingly nearly on the scrapyard I definetely see Connolys future being at right back, meaning our first team centrebacks are Hudson and Turner. I'd like to see a new centre back arrive, that not only provides much needed cover but also challenges Turner and Hudson for a first team place week in week out. Likewise I'd like a striker that will take Helguson's spot of playing every single game, and for the second spot to then be rotated between Bellamy, Mason, Helguson and preferably Velikonja.

I can't argue with what your saying there Red. 1 forward, 1 defender may be enough. It will be interesting to see what our rivals will be up to. There is every likelihood that they will lose some key individuals, a problem we shouldn't have to contend with, but that will provide them with money to buy.
Pre-season, I'd tipped Blackpool and Blackburn to give us problems but both of them look out of contention (at least for autos) now. Blackpool will lose Ince and possibly Phillips too come January.
I didn't expect Hull or Palace to be as competitive as they are but I'm not sure what kind of spending power they have. Palace coming off the back of administration surely won't have much unless they cash in on Zaha (which they are adamant they won't do) but Holloway worked wonders with Blackpool on a similar budget, so who knows. Hull feel like an unknown quantity at the moment.
Boro and Leicester I would expect to get in a few new faces. Watford and Forest too. I'd be surprised if Millwall get any big names in and they'll do well to keep up the pace, and I think the same goes for Brighton and Derby.
That's my pennies worth anyways.

Malky will be wheeling and dealing like there's no tomorrow.. He won't show his hand now.. Like a poker player... Not like Jeremy Beadle
Fair comment here. Although, I think everyone of us has expressed something similar quite a while ago...

I can't believe Velcro would have missed all of the sitters Helguson squandered Saturday and I'm fucking certain it's not butter.
Fellas, its time to forget about Velcro, let him go. Until Malky decides he is ready, which maybe never, there is not point in us all continuely getting upset about him.
Back to one defender and striker being enough, im not sure you know. All it took was a minor injury crisis and we are playing Joe ralls at right back, gunnarson at left and young Nugent in the middle. To be fair to Ben he did ok, but do we really want to rely on a unproven youngster to see us through a champion/promotion campaign? I think not. We need at least two defenders and a striker imo.
