He does like to make up stats does malky..

On the official website he says we weren't clinical enough "with 20 shots on target."

Funny that, according to the BBC we only had 7 shots on target. Bit of a difference.

I've highlighted this before - its a secret malky trick for when we lose.

The lads had a big slap in the face today & sometimes thats a good thing.

I think you've interpreted his statement how you've wanted to interpret it tbh.

Reading the quote on the BBC site, he says that "we've had 20 attempts on goal". He doesn't say 'on target'.

And I'm aware that we actually had 24 attempts on goal, but I don't expect Malky to be sitting in the dug out totting up the stats. I expect he's guesed it's about 20, or been told 24 so rounded down, or whatever.
I really don't see it as a big deal.


The only stat that matters is the final score.

I remember when we first signed Malky all the Watford fans where saying the same thing,He loves to blame the ref after every lose :sniggers:IMO Malky needs to blame it on the boogie.

Fair comment SteWells - but to be fair Malky has been known to do this in the past. Instead of coming out and saying that "we were well beat" or "We didn't get it tactically right today" instead Malky will say something like "we had 20/30/40 shots on goal/target and we were unlucky." (Also for me, at first read, 20 shots on goal means 20 shots on target.)

I guess the thing that bugs me about it is Malky's unwillingness to acknowledge his own mistakes - perhaps he does so privately, I don't know, but certainly not publicly.
