Not sure which one they broadcast these days but the Special Edition with all the extra footage is much better than the original - the story makes much more sense. I'd imagine it would look fantastic in Blu-ray too. Hmmm, might hunt that down.
Also, if you like a read the novel written by Orson Scott Card is actually great. Probably one of the best movie tie-in books I've ever read.

It is good. The best movie ending goes to the Sixth Sense, or the Usual Suspects. Honourable mention goes to The Others.
