Broadband Dealios

Right, O2 have just hiked up the price of our Broadband as Mrs Arkay has left them as a mobile customer, so now we need to find a new, cheaper, more reasonable supplier (they are charging us £31 a month now!).

Will obviously browse the interweb, but anybody got any recommendations?

Me and the Mrs have Virgin Broadband only (no phoneline or tv) on there smallest package - 30MB which is ridiculously fast - on a 12 month contract.

First 3 months - 17.50
9 remaining months - 22.50

Very happy because:

1. It's only a 12 month contract
2. No phoneline (or phoneline charge)
3. It's fibreoptic so way faster and more relilable than other providers such as mobile providers and Sky.
4. No bad for super quick broadband

So, how does that hook up? Forgive my ignorance but do they need to install a fibre optic connection point?

I live in a block of flats y'see, although the building is only 8 years old.

Ahhh...go on the virgin website with the postcode checker and they will tell you if they can provide the service.

Virgin are the best, the others are really tight.

Virgin Broadband deffo if your in a cabled area

if not, See if you can get Sky LLU - cheap as chips at £7.50 and they will do a deal if you go with their sky talk.

Managed to upgrade my Telephone with Sky for a reduced rate of £3 a month so Broadband and Telco for £10.50 a month for a year bargain!
