His dive was shameful though, to be fair. I didn't rate the goal simply because I was still irritated by that. Also, I found it amusing the welsh news only showed the penalty going in, and didn't bother showing why it was given What's that? You want to see those Wales-Scotland highlights again? It was a better performance by the team no doubt, but it can definetely be argued the team got their asses saved by Bale and Bale alone (oh okay, maybe the referee too for inexplicably ruling that goal out).

I think Bale made a meal of it and could easily have stayed on his feet but there was contact. Maloney has admitted as much What's that? You want to see those Wales-Scotland highlights again? Oh, go on then... 3392635135

You know my opinion on contact apparently making pretending to be shot okay already. But yeah, I've seen it a few times and I'm not even sure there was any contact at all. And if there was, he tapped his heel, it would of been a harsh referee to see that as a foul.

The Tartan Army must have watched a different match on the red button 'cos that no way resembles the game being talked about on the TA website.

Dear god.

Maloney has admitted he made contact with Bale, he has even apologised to his team mates for it. You can't deny the facts - Bale was clipped, his legs knocked together and he fell over. Surely you have been in that position when playing, regardless of if he wanted to stay on his feet or not, he couldn't. It happens.

I have, quite right. But the big difference is - I just fell over. I remember being hit probably much harder than he was. I lost my footing, tried to catch myself but simply overstepped myself and went down like a sack of potatoes. I didn't throw my hands into the air, throw my knees up behind me and all the other dramatics he pulled. You cant honestly tell me thats a natual reaction to being tripped. if it was, theres something srriusly wrong with your nervous system. He's been tripped, he knows he's falling over, why can't he just do it and most likely get the penalty anyway. Why the dramatics around it?

If there has indeed been an acceptance by the other player it was a foul, fair enough. But that just makes the need for this nonsense he pulls every single match he plays even more unacceptable. His second goal was quality, but his antics around that make him a dirty stain on not only Welsh but British football.

That's the same video I've seen many times already that makes me doubt there even was that much contact. Looks like his fall is orchestrated by the foot that wasnt tripped to me also...

EDIT: yep, he definetely jumps on that left foot. If there was contact it was on his right, no need for his left to jump. Straight dive, not even convinced there was any contact at all beyond maybe a tap. The defender probably apologised for making the mistake of touching a known diver in my opinion..

When you've watched Joe Jordan handle the ball to win a penalty surrounded by the sort of humanity that makes you wonder why Hadrian didn't build his wall bigger, it's surprising what you'll buy for a Dollar. I've already gone on record that I think Bale is a diver, but in this instance he gets the benefit of the doubt as an "Embellisher" only.

Ramsay however......................

Ramsay's "Incident" fell into the same category as Bale's incident with the Villa goalie. I think it is quite simple; the players are being coached at their clubs to go down in anticipation of contact. If the contact is considered "Noticeable" - then appeal. If the contact does not materialize, just get up and get on with the game; fingers crossed that the ref does not award a yellow.

I don't like diving, I'm dead against it and Bale does it and it pisses me off. But what I will say is that when players are running at the speed of the likes of Bale and Ronaldo all it takes is a tap and they're going to fall. Look at ankle taps in rugby, a tap and the players easily trip up.

I don't like diving or embellishment, i put the both in the same category of emberassing the sport regularly. YouTube is filled after every match day with videos of people doing just that, and it's one of the (admittedly many) things footballers are getting up to that garners the games bad name. If you don't need to fall over, don't fall over. If you are tripped at high speed you're going to stumble at the very least and the referee should be trusted to see that. But to turn a tap into the sort of thing Bale, and apparently Ramsey ( I didn't see the full game so can't comment on that one) did, is emberassing.

I'm not just picking on Wales. Welbeck and Young are c***s as well that inu had my way would be banned from playing for England until they learn to play fairly. I've been at school football matches and overheard the manager tell the players 'don't tackle that guy, he's a diver and he'll go down if you go anywhere near him. Just try and block him without contact and only tackle if you absolutely have to'. At a school game. Played by twelve year olds. It's ridiculous and needs to stop being considered 'just part of the game'.
