Conway changed the game today and had a very good pre season but due to the new signings he hasnt had a chance.Noone couldnt get in the game but I feel that was just tiredness after a mid week game & Cowie was off the pace again, Conway took his chance tonight to get back into the team and at the very least should be picked ahead of Cowie going forward imo.
Doesnt seem the injury set him back to much . Im happy to see him back & just hope Malky gives him alot more game time going forward.
Opinions ?

Conway was excellent when be came on. Suprising what competition can do to a player's game! Now we've got three decent wingers.

Conway has never let us down, he should have a place on rota that reflects his quality.... Bit anonymous to Malky IMO.. What a waste

It's a tricky one for Malky. Assuming Smith is back fit for the next game, which of his wingers does he leave out? Conway, Smith and Noone will all feel they've done enough to warrant a place.

I think today showed the value of strength in depth. The team that won this game was pretty much last season's faithful with Helguson instead of Miller. The difference was that Malky had good options to use when "Plan A" wasn't working and the players are more hungry.
This was a result well ground out and I don't agree with other comments posted re Don Cowie. He did a pretty good unglamorous job today and allowed Gunnarsson freedom to roam and Whitts to get more into things as the game wore on.
Second win in 66 years away against a team that is in a false position......credit where it is due gentlemen!
PS.......Conway was excellent!

Conway's direct style and the good game he had today should warrant his inclusion on the bench for the next match

I think Conways's role this season will definetely be as an impact sub. Smith has also been very impressive, and would have two or three goals to his name already if fine goalkeeping didn't deny him every time. He's a workhorse that you can count on most games to do his job as well as he can do. Replacing him with Conway at the key time could be a game changer in our tough matches, the fresh legs proved they can really make the difference last night
I'm casting Smith and Bellamy in the same light here, both fantastic players that should start every time they can but also expect to be subbed at key times UK make way for younger, faster feet. Preferably, in my opinion, Conway and Mason respectively.

Of course we have to consider Kim Bo. Reading the WO article about him, Malky is nearly ready to give him a bit more.
I'm sorry but Cowie should be a lot further down the pecking order than he is. He had an ok game yesterday, was pretty tidy when he had the ball but disappeared for large chuncks. The truth is there are better players than him in every position. He would struggle to make my bench.
