I text my mate earlier, who is a big Derby fan and asked him about Jason Shackell,
he said he was their best player last year and if we get him for £1mil then its a real good deal.
Never heard of him before but he seems to rate him v highly[b]

I would be surprised if he was signed to replace Hudson or Turner, though. A million is a lot for a squad member. I'm a bit confused about this, unless he's a very tall full back.

Ive asked him if he can play in either fullback positions but he hasnt got back yet.
I think it depends on what happens to Gerrard and Gypes as without them we are very thin on the ground.

Malky was with him as a young lad at Norwich so may have seen him as a decent talent for years, I would be surprised if the fee is 1Mil

Apparently Derby turned down a mil bid from Burnley for him
