We have 9 Strikers

All in Maynard,Etien Velikonja,Craig Bellamy, Tommy Smith, Rob Earnshaw, Joe Mason,
Heidar Helguson and Rudy Gestede all now Bluebirds...

Why the Hell do we have 9 Strikers (including Jarvis)? I'm all for a bit of cover. but thats a bit overkill! Whos gunna start as our first striker?

Earnie needs to stop sitting on his fat salary and go somewhere where he will get games

This is my order of preference of forwards:

1. Maynard
2. Earnshaw*
3. Joe Mason
4. Etien Velikonja
5. Helguson
6. Rudy Gestede (When fit)
7. Tommy Smith
8. Bellamy (more useful just sitting off the fowards imo)

gestede & earnie should go on loan imo

Sorry to say it but if Earnie couldn't get anywhere near the first team last season, he's got no chance this season.

Given the width and service that Noone, Bellamy, Tommy Smith (who will be seen to be a massive signing as the year goes on) and probably Kimbo will provide, any of that lot should be able to fill his boots this year.

Agree about Tommy Smith, I thought he was outstanding yesterday. I also thought McNaughton was magnificent, it was only the lack of a hat trick that stopped him getting man of the match.

I can't see Earnie or Jarvis even making the bench and in truth they don't really warrant a place. Surely they will go out on loan. I see can't see Smith playing as a striker and I am more than happy for him to be kept out wide - a joy to watch. I am not sure where Bellamy is most likely to feature. Gestede is rarely fit. I want to see more of Velikonja and surely we will see plenty of Mason.

So, the competion for strikers is healthy with good cover. And there is a goal threat throuhout midfield.

I can't believe that this is really Cardiff City.

I know! I keep having to pinch myself and others around me. It's made me a bit unpopular with the London commuting folk but I'm happy.

The four strikers who will be used in rotation are Maynard, Helguson, Mason and Velikonja.

Arkay, try to avoid girls' arses, it will get you into trouble. Ditto any Millwall fans.
