Newcastle Saw Red!
Page 1 of 1 • Share
Walking to the game this afternoon my mind cast back to the last time Newcastle come to town beating us 1-0… so all I could see today was a draw at best; but not so my 7 year old grandson; who said that Cardiff would win 4-1 … Oh to be young I thought!!! Oh ye of little faith more like!
So how did Cardiff manage such a turn around this time around?
Cardiff City FC were immense today; putting a fair Newcastle side to the sword!
Cardiff were strong & solid in defence, majestic in midfield & tricky in attack. In fact the midfield were working as attackers too; Newcastle didn't know what had hit them & from which direction the attack would appear!!!
Keeping possession was not a problem; wasted passes was not a problem; also the atmosphere was great, basking in the sunshine with a refreshing breeze.
The team played so well together, so organized, so tight, well done to them & the staff.
There were so many great individual performances out there today too; apart from a short time after the break Cardiff bossed BIG TIME & with the introduction of Bellamy, Kim Bo-Kyung & Little Joe Mason who knows what could happen this season???
For me the Red & Black Kit looked very attractive, dominant in fact, oozing Fire & Passion for sure... – quite a few red shirts around the stadium too.
For me Cardiff looked like the Premiership outfit out there.
Apart from PW, players that stood out for me were; Mutch, Gunnarsson, Velikonja, Ralls & Heidar Helguson… Oh yes our 6'6" Joe Lewis made two top draw saves, roll on Friday…

Sound like a great performance but i will not get carried away same as i wasn't that bothered when we lost our opening friendly to Forest Green.
However it does look like Malky is puting a great squad together and knows how to get the best out of every player and we have looked stronger and stronger has the pre season as progressed so roll on the Huddersfield game which will be our first real test

Yes there were more blue shirts.... I noticed that Cardiff were selling last year's blue shirts in the Club Shop's Retro section?
